First Hotels Continues Expansion in Stockholm

– takes over AC Hotel by Marriott Stockholm Ulriksdal

First Hotels has entered into a long-term agreement to take over the operation of AC Hotel by Marriott Stockholm Ulriksdal in Solna. The modern full-service hotel has 223 rooms and will become First Hotel Ulriksdal when First Hotels takes over operations in early 2027. The hotel will be the group’s ninth hotel under its own operation and the 47th hotel within First Hotels.

The takeover strengthens First Hotels’ position in the Stockholm market, particularly within the corporate, meetings and business travel segments. The hotel opened in 2020 and is located in Solna, one of the Stockholm region’s strongest business areas, home to numerous companies, headquarters and workplaces, with excellent connections to central Stockholm and Arlanda Airport. First Hotels has entered into the agreement directly with property owner Vi Invest AB and will become the long-term tenant and operator, with full responsibility for the hotel’s operational and commercial management.

Strengthening the focus on hotels under our own operation

First Hotel Ulriksdal will be the ninth hotel operated directly by First Hotels and the second major addition to the company’s own-operated hotel portfolio in Sweden since new owners joined First Hotels in 2025. Previously, First Hotels took over the entire hotel operation at First Hotel Planetstaden in Lund, where the company has also invested in the hotel property together with Norwegian investment company Daimyo.

“We want to expand our own hotel operations over the coming years. Ulriksdal is a good example of the type of hotel we want to operate ourselves: a large full-service hotel in a strong market where we can take long-term responsibility for operations, commercial development and the guest experience,” says Gabrielsen.

Becomes First Hotel Ulriksdal

When First Hotels takes over operations, the hotel will change its name from AC Hotel by Marriott Stockholm Ulriksdal to First Hotel Ulriksdal and become fully part of the First Hotels brand. The hotel will be positioned in the upper segment of the group’s portfolio, offering a high standard and a broad range of accommodation, restaurant, meeting, spa and fitness facilities. With 223 rooms and suites, as well as extensive conference facilities, First Hotel Ulriksdal will become one of the group’s most comprehensive hotels in Sweden.

Hotel number 47 within First Hotels

With First Hotel Ulriksdal, First Hotels will have 47 hotels. The company is also working on several new openings and partnerships across the Nordics and expects to announce further hotel news during the autumn. At the same time, First Hotels continues to grow through franchise and other long-term partnerships with hotel and property owners.
