The building has exciting historical value dating back to the 1700´s. The Swedish King at the time, Gustaf III (1746-1792) danced and amused himself in the magnificent ballroom which at the time was part of the building. From the fromer Stadskällaren and The Savoy, First Hotel JA has developed into one of Southern Swedens most modern hotels. First Hotels took over the hotel in 1996, from the former owners Horst Gottlieb.
